About RSS feeds

The St. Johns River Water Management District offers Really Simple Syndication (RSS) feeds to provide instant notification when news releases have been posted on the District’s Web site. RSS feed subscribers receive news release headlines and introductory sentences immediately after each news release is posted. The notifications contained in the feeds link back to the complete news releases on the District’s Web site.

The District’s RSS feeds are free, and additional feeds relating to other District Web site content may be offered in the future.

How to access RSS feeds

RSS feeds can be accessed through:

  • A Web-based RSS reader. Providers include Google and Yahoo, which offer ways to set up feeds on personalized Web pages (the District’s feed address to paste into the reader is http://www.sjrwmd.com/rss/newsfeed.xml).
  • An RSS desktop gadget.
  • A browser such as Microsoft Internet Explorer (click on Go to the RSS News Feed and save as a favorite).
  • E-mail software such as Microsoft Outlook (go to Tools > Account Settings > RSS Feeds > Add New and paste http://www.sjrwmd.com/rss/newsfeed.xml).

These methods are not all inclusive, but are examples of some of the more common approaches to obtain RSS feeds.

Terms for use of RSS feeds

The District encourages the use of its RSS feeds for personal use. Because this Web site and all of its contents are copyrighted by the St. Johns River Water Management District, proper attribution to the District is required whenever District content is posted on another Web page, and the District reserves the right to require that distribution be ceased at any time. Additional information can be found on the District’s terms and conditions page.
